    New Entrants in Security Industry

The security course is designed for people who want to work and to acquire the knowledge and attitude needed to work as an Unarmed Guard (1A) or Crowd Control (1C) in a range of industries, such as construction, banking, aviation, hospitality, education, health, transportation, warehousing, and retail.

The topics covered include communication with clients and peers, work health and safety, risk assessment and management, protecting people and premises, screening baggage and controlling crowds.

Candidates with experience in Security Industry

If you have completed Certificate II in Security Operations in Australia, you may be eligible for either a Credit Transfer or an assessment only pathway.

The Credit Transfer option is available to candidates who have completed Certificate II in Security Operations on/after 1 May 2013 from a Registered Training Organisation approved by the NSW Security Licensing and Enforcement Directorate (such as SkillNet).

The assessment-only pathway is available to candidates who have either completed their course prior to 1 May 2013 or completed their course from an interstate training organisation.  Security officers who have obtained a NSW Security Licence 1AC through mutual recognition might fit this category of candidates. You must provide your previous qualifications to us in order for us to seek approval from NSW Police for undertaking this pathway (approvals are given on case-by-case basis).

Submission of certificates and list of units attained is required to establish the best pathway (credit transfer, assessment-only or security training and assessment) to gain the full qualification.
