Course Overview

The Certificate II in Security Operations (CPP20218) is the mandatory qualification for individuals seeking to work as a licensed security officer in NSW and across Australia.

 

This course is designed to equip learners with the core skills, legal knowledge, and hands-on experience needed to work in the dynamic security industry.

Course Eligibility

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold relevant visa

  • Must meet the NSW Security Licence eligibility requirements (click here to read SLED's Fact Sheet 6)

  • Provide 100 points of ID

  • Complete a Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) assessment

  • Basic physical fitness is required for some practical components

  • Current First Aid Certificate (unit code HLTAID011)

COURSE DELIVERY

  • Full Time:   Mon to Fri

  • Part Time:  Sat + Sun

  • Class Time:  9:30am - 6:30pm
  • Duration:   11 Sessions

    All assessments are completed during face -to-face sessions.  Formative self-study assigned by trainer to be completed at home

  • Course includes four clusters of unit.
  • Cluster 1 must be successfully completed prior to proceeding to Clusters 2 to 4

    (Passport + NSW Driver's Licence + Medicare Card) and fee payment

  3. Online applicants will need to come in for LLN test and to show original IDs

FEES & REFUNDS

  • Application fee is included in Tuition Fee. Security License fees excluded.

  • All enrollments expire in six months from the application date. See Refunds below.

  • Installment payment plans incur an admin fee of $50.

  • Replacement of course resources will incur $10 fee.

  • Reassessments will incur a fee of $80 per reassessment of a task. 

  • Changing enrolled course dates or sitting in multiple courses after the initial commencement will incur a $250 course change fee.

  • No refunds will be given for requests received 7 or more days prior to the first face to face session or after commencement of online learning and/or face to face sessions.
